GetOriginatorThreadId Method

Retrieves the Id of the thread that initiated the operation.

Syntax

int GetOriginatorThreadId();
INT GetOriginatorThreadId();

Remarks

This method can be called within events fired for filesystem operations to retrieve the Id of the thread that initiated the operation. If the query fails, this method returns 0.

Please note that thread Ids are not unique, and may be reused by different threads over time.

Note: This method can only be called within events, and must be called in the same thread that the event was originally fired on.

Error Handling (C++)

This method returns an Integer value; after it returns, call the GetLastErrorCode() method to obtain its result code; 0 indicates success, while a non-zero error code indicates that this method encountered an error during its execution. If an error occurs, the GetLastError() method can be called to retrieve the associated error message.
